City of Santa Clarita

The city of Santa Clarita is the third largest city in Los Angeles County with a population of close to 180,000 within the city limits. It is also the eighteenth largest city in the state of California. It is bounded on the west by the Golden State Freeway (I-5). The Antelope Valley Freeway (SR-14) runs northeast-southwest through an irregular east border, and the Newhall Pass is the city’s southernmost point. The Santa Clarita Valley is close to the beach cities and the mountains, so our location, just north of the San Fernando Valley, is perfect for every lifestyle.

Santa Clarita was incorporated in December 1987 as the union of several previously existing communities: Canyon Country, Newhall, Saugus, and Valencia. The adjacent unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County that are not within the jurisdiction boundaries of the City of Santa Clarita are Agua Dulce, Acton, Stevenson Ranch, Val Verde and Castaic.

Besides attracting top businesses to the Santa Clarita Valley, such as Disney, ABC Studios, Advanced Bionics, and Princess Cruises, Santa Clarita was recognized by CNN Money Magazine as “one of the best places to live California.”

Each area has benefits to offer its residents. There are housing developments ideally located within walking distance to the prominent Westfield Valencia shopping center with its many designer shops and top-rated restaurants. Some neighborhoods have stunning hillside views or large lots while others are close to recreational amenities such as Castaic Lake. Our master planned communities in Valencia feature community pools, tennis courts, nearby parks, and bike & hiking trails. The paseos which run throughout these neighborhoods connect homeowners to the outdoor amenities that surround these homes.

Besides our highly acclaimed K-12 schools, College of the Canyons, the Master’s College and Cal Arts are located in the Santa Clarita Valley and are also recognized for their academic achievement.
